Character Name:You people have this. Kazumi KatÅ/Diva
Character Journal:
thefamegame
Physical Description: Kazumi stands at about five feet seven inches tall - though she tends to appear taller because of the ridiculously high heels she tends to wear. She has long, thick dark brown hair which she usually keeps curled, warm almond shaped eyes, and a mischevious smile. If one sees her out of the corner of their eye, they will think that she is glowing, but if they look at her head on, that glow generally will not be there.
Age: 23
DOB: June 30 1989
PB: Emiri Miyasaka
Character Location/Home: Japan
Alignment: Hero
Relatives: Unknown
Abilities, Weaknesses, and Flaws: The goddess Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto, who Kazumi is descended from, decided to try an experiment. She wanted to see what a modern girl who considered herself a goddess would do with the powers of a goddess. Thus, Kazumi's powers stem from Uzume, who is also known as the Great Persuader.
thefamegameKazumi's powers are directly related to the amount of fame/fans she has. The more she has, the more powers Kazumi has. The first of these things is not really an ability per se, but Kazumi's beauty increases with more fans she has - or at least, it seems to. Her smile gets brighter and more disarming. (Not as in knocking a gun out of someone's hand, but they will slow down a bit, awed by her smile.) Her actual power, though, is that of vocal pathokinesis, that is, Kazumi has the mystical ability manipulate the emotions of other sentient beings through her voice, usually through song. The power is weak through her recorded voice (only strong enough to make people her fans, but not stronger for much more) though stronger in person. The only holdback is that if a person is not attracted to her in any way, shape, or form, it is more difficult for her to use her power on them. Once she has someone under her musical sway, she is able to impart suggestions that she wants them to do for her - favours - though this sort of sway only lasts a very short amount of time - an hour at the most. The less/fame/fans/followers she has, though, the less strong this power is. Kazumi suffers from having issues of entitlement as well, which can mess with the fact that she's a superhero. (Granted, she's mostly a superhero to help her better her image...)
thefamegame (Honestly. Her personality is one giant flaw.)
Personality: Kazumi is a somewhat messed-up young woman. While on the surface - to her fans and her team - she puts up a front of being a warm, sweet, friendly, grateful, humble young woman...she's not. Well, not entirely. Everything that Kazumi does is driven by one thing - fame. She wants to be famous, she wants to be loved, and she wants to be worshipped. That she has a wonderful voice only helped her start to attain those goals. Everything she does, she does for her image, from charity work, to signing autographs, to inaugurating a school for the blind, to joining the BH6. It's all for her image, even if she does actually end up doing some good along the way. She's quick to talk about people behind their backs, gossip, and isn't beyond taking down some of her competition by way of verbally tearing them down. She doesn't do this with her team, because she knows that she needs them, but at the same time, the moment she has a chance, she'll probably leave them and go solo...in an attempt to become Japan's greatest superheroine ever.
Backstory: Kazumi comes from a somewhat political family. Her father was the Japanese Ambassador to the US for awhile and as such, Kazumi spent some of her childhood growing up in the US. Her parents moved back to Japan when she was in her early teens. A wild, rambunctious young woman, Kazumi was very much a party girl, and one who tended to move in crowds that perhaps she would have been better off avoiding. She spent a short amount of time as a pageant queen, which briefly turned into a short-lived career as a teen model before she found a way to turn that into a music career. Originally, she was part of a group of teen singers, but the singers each "graduated" (read: were fired) from the group once they hit the age of twenty. When that finally happened to her, Kazumi branched out on her own, and won people over. She became known for her love ballads, especially.
Soon, though, as younger, better acts started to arise, Kazumi started to lose fame, and with it she started losing her power and everything else that came with fame. So, she did the one thing that she thought would help. She created and released a sex tape. The tape brought her back into the limelight, but in a negative fashion. Desperate to bring herself some relevance again, and improve her public image, Kazumi started doing charity work, stopped partying as much, and found a way to use her powers to join up with Big Hero 6.
All in the name of fame.
